The Event

Rapid surfing comes to the Benelux

The Benelux Rapid Surf 2026 brings the region's best riders together for the first dedicated rapid surfing championship of the Benelux. Instead of the ocean, athletes take on a powerful indoor standing wave — a fast, endless wall of water that rewards control, style and speed. An independent championship with a festival atmosphere for riders, families and fans — proudly launched together with Surf Club Luxembourg Arlon as launching partner of the first edition.

The Competition

Four divisions. One wave. Three days.

Riders compete across four divisions, judged fairly on wave count, control, power and progression by a dedicated panel. Full rules and heat draws are published ahead of the event.

Open

The premier division — the fastest, most progressive riding of the weekend.

Women

The women's field, riding for the first Benelux rapid surf title.

Junior

The next generation, under 18, showing the future of the sport.

Masters

35+ riders proving experience never goes out of style.

The championship runs on the indoor standing wave of Surf Luxembourg, inside the Van der Valk Hotel Luxembourg-Arlon — a perfect, controllable wave all year round, whatever the weather. Around the wave: a surf village with food, retail, sponsor activations, live music and daily ceremonies.

What is rapid surfing? +

Rapid surfing is surfing on a stationary "standing" wave created by fast-flowing water. The wave never ends, so riders can carve, pump and land tricks continuously — it's fast, technical and spectacular to watch.

When and where does it take place? +

5–7 November 2026, on the indoor standing wave of Surf Luxembourg at the Van der Valk Hotel Luxembourg-Arlon, Route de Longwy 596, 6700 Arlon, Belgium.

Can I compete? +

The event is open to riders across the Open, Women, Junior (U18) and Masters (35+) divisions. Registration runs through the clubs and the federation — leave your interest above and we'll send you the details.

Can I come and watch? +

Yes — spectators are welcome at the surf village throughout the weekend. Admission and ticketing details will be announced closer to the event.

Who is behind the event? +
